Interlibrary Loan When you need an item that the Plum Library doesn't own, we'll try to get it for you. All you need is a current Helen Plum Library card. You can either come to the Adult Services Desk, or call the library at 630-627-0316 and ask for Adult Services. It's best to have your Plum Library card with you. Tell us what you need, and we'll search other libraries through the computer to locate it. We'll send the other library a request, and when your item arrives, we'll notify you. The Plum Library can borrow books, music CDs, videos and DVDs, magazine and journal articles, audiobooks, and census or newspaper microform. And we can borrow these items not only from libraries close to home, but if necessary also from libraries across Illinois and the U.S. The only limit depends on the lending library. Some libraries do not lend items from certain collections, such as audiovisual materials, through interlibrary loan. The Plum Library limits requests to four items per week per patron. Interlibrary loan is usually a free service. The only time fees are charged is when the lending library charges a fee to the Plum Library. In these cases, we will aways let you know the fee before requesting the item for you.
