SERVICES FOR
LOMBARD SCHOOLS
- Teachers or other designated school personnel may call or fax
the Young People's Services Department at the Helen M. Plum Memorial
Library to request materials on a specific subject.
- Materials for use in the classroom are checked out on a school
services card. To obtain an annual school services card, an
application must be filled out and signed by the principal of
the school. This application includes a list of the teachers and
school personnel that are eligible to use the card.
- In order to put together and process a quality book bag, a minimum
of three business days notice is essential.
- District 44 bags will be available on Wednesdays for
pickup by the district van.
- District 45 school personnel can pick up their bags on
Thursdays.
- Private Schools (including preschools and childcare providers)
can pick up their bags on Fridays.
- When making your request, please let the Young People's staff
know if you would like non-book materials such as CD-ROMs, puzzles,
compact discs, etc.
- Book and video bags should be picked up and returned at the
Circulation Desk.
- Materials in a book bag are checked out for three weeks.
- Video bags are checked out for one week.
- Book bags and video bags may be renewed with notification.
- Any bag not claimed within two business days of the pick up
date will be reshelved and must be requested again.
- The school is responsible for lost or damaged materials.
- School personnel may not use the school services card for their
own personal use and cannot expect Library staff to create on-the-spot
book or video bags.
CLASS
VISITS AT THE LIBRARY OR IN THE CLASSROOM
